Making Cornbread

  2. Ah, my recipe is quite simple. Here you are:

    Cornbread
    1 c. cornmeal
    1 c. flour
    1/4 c. sugar
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1 egg
    1 c. milk
    1/4 c. shortening

    Combine dry ingredients in a bowl. Add egg, milk and shortening. Stir slightly. Pour into a greased nine-inch square pan. Bake at 375 degrees F for 20-25 min.
